17,278 Ether was sent to 6 exchanges from 3 major addresses, and at least some of the stolen funds were frozen.

North Korean exploiters in the back of the Harmony Bridge assault keep to launder price range stolen in June. According to on-chain data revealed by his ZachXBT of blockchain snoop dog on Jan. 28, the culprit moved his 17,278 Ether worth about $27 million over the weekend.

The tokens have been transferred to six different cryptocurrency exchanges, he wrote in his Twitter thread but did not specify which platform received the tokens. Three primary addresses performed transactions. According to ZachXBT, exchanges were notified of the transfer and some of the stolen assets were frozen. The abuser’s money laundering moves are very similar to his January 13th move, where more than $60 million was laundered, says the crypto detective.

The funds were moved days after the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) confirmed that the Lazarus Group and APT38 were the criminals behind the $100 million hack. In a statement, the FBI said, “Through our investigation, we were able to confirm that North Korea-linked cyber actors Lazarus Group and APT38 were responsible for the theft of $100 million worth of cryptocurrency. ‘He said. Two guys from Harmony’s Horizon are in charge of the bridge. “

Harmony’s Horizon Bridge facilitates transfers between Harmony and the Ethereum network, Binance Chain and Bitcoin. On June 23rd, a series of tokens worth approximately $100 million were stolen from the platform.

After the exploit, 85,700 Ether was processed through the Tornado Cash Mixer and deposited to multiple addresses. On January 13th, the hacker began moving stolen funds worth approximately $60 million through his Ethereum-based privacy protocol RAILGUN. Analysis by cryptocurrency tracking platform MistTrack has linked 350 addresses from many exchanges to the attack to avoid identification.

Lazarus is a famous hacking syndicate and has been involved in many major crypto industry breaches, including his $600 million Ronin Bridge hack last March.
