Roberto Giavallini was born in 1973. From 1999 to 2010 he studied under Mario Donizetti. In 2008, for his work Crocifisso he won first prize at the Darfo Boario Terme competition. The jury included Vittorio Sgarbi, who succinctly wrote, “Roberto has hands and a head.”
Additionally, in 2011, Giavallini was invited to join a commission chaired by Vittorio Sgarbi to exhibit at the Lombardy Pavilion of the 54th Venice Biennale at Palazzo Te in Mantua. In 2013 Giavallini held a solo exhibition CODEX curated by Vladek Cwalinski at the FORNI Gallery in Bologna. The following year Giavallini exhibited his work UN VASO DI PANDORA at the exhibition “Spoleto in Contra Venezia” curated by Vittorio Scalbi at the Palazzo Farie in Venice.
In 2015, he exhibited his work A NOSTRA IMMAGINE at the Palermo International Art Biennale and won the Guglielmo II Prize. In 2016, he won the International Tiepolo Award and was published in the volume ITALIANI Selezione d’Arte Contemporanea, edited by Vittorio Sgarbi. His work PAVO CRISTATUS.
In 2017, he created a brand-new painting method on a treated plate that combined conventional methods (egg tempera, oil, etc.) with the use of chemical elements (acids, etc.) for industrial purposes. The new paintings are displayed in this publication as well, which Vittorio Sgarbi edited.
